18 Restoration Hardware Knockoff Projects

This post is for all of you, myself included, who sigh as you look at Restoration Hardware goodies, and then sigh again in defeat at the prices.

If you love industrial, rustic, antique, minimalist, and/or neutral decor, you have come to the right place, my friend. May I  present to you some of the very best the web’s blogtopia has to offer for making RH decor, furniture, and art on your own budget-friendly terms.

These RH DIY projects have 3 things in common:

1. They use commonly found materials

2. Each project has a full how-to tutorial available

3. Execution of the project was beautifully done to mimic the real deal of RH

Slightly on the same subject, some neat stuff has been happening for me here! Two weeks ago I happened upon and joined up with a huge website hub called Home Talk. HT is a mash-up of Pinterest and an “anything home or creative” wikipedia. You can post helpful tips, show a project you did, or ask advice for a project you’re wanting to do (or that went south – always good to have a place to send out an S.O.S.).

After looking around a bit on the site, I added a few of my blog’s posts for how-to’s and projects…and was surprised to see how much interest I immediately received on them, and then to my blog. My post on updating your fixtures for $3.00 got over 500 Facebook shares in less than 24 hours of posting! It was amazing.

I was surprised again when a manager of Home Talk reached out to me by email, excited about my post on the knockoff Restoration Hardware bookcase and wanting to know if I would want to do a RH round-up on HT that they would share in their newsletter and other social media.

Yeah, I didn’t have to think twice about it.

Also this month I’m working on coming up with a GF recipe or two for T-giving (GF stuffing, anyone?), and I may have some DIY Christmas gift ideas in the pipeline.
